WHY WE ONLY USE HANDMADE FANS

Mastering the art of handmade fans can take years for some. It takes time and a lot of practice and patience to learn how to create handmade lash fans.

What are volume lashes?

Volume lash extensions are created by applying multiple extensions to the natural lash. A fan of extensions is created, which can add volume to the lashes and help fill the gaps between sparser lashes.

What’s the difference between handmade and premade fans?

Handmade fans are made by the eyelash technician, during the appointment. A few extensions are pulled from the strip, fanned, and then applied to the client’s natural lashes using lash glue.

Premade fans are produced externally and by a machine, and the fans are bonded by a small amount of lash glue, or sometimes by using heat. A lash artist will apply premade fans to their clients in the same way as handmade fans.

Are handmade Russian fans better than premade fans?

Premades are convenient and may be necessary for some technicians to use now and again but the quality of the end product will never be the same as using handmade fans.

The best thing about handmade fans is that they give you full control. Every person has different types of natural lashes, some may have thick and full lashes or others may have sparse and thin natural lashes. Creating handmade fans allows each extension to be tailored to suit the correct weight, length, and diameter for the client’s natural lashes which helps prevent damage.

Meanwhile, premade fans can restrict the amount of control a lash tech has when creating a set that best suits a client’s needs. Using premade fans can be very limiting to creating customized looks and also producing different types of lash styles. When it comes to glueing the premade fans there is no way of telling how much glue has been used to create the premade fan which can cause potential damage to the natural lash as the glue may be too heavy and can cause the drying time of the glue to take longer which can result in stickies/clumping which is a lash techs worst nightmare.
